Animal World Network is a family run business out of California, which has a fine array of products. Its ranking was affected by customer support availability that lags competitors and education material that consists of unusual links of dubious value. There is also almost nothing dealing with efforts to set up or maintain aquariums when compared to the other ranked sites.

Inventory Selection:   Excellent

However, one of the nice things about this site was the relatively large number of starter kits. For a beginning aquarium enthusiast, the starter kits are nice places to begin with the basics of aquarium setup. These kits are perfect for children to get involved with what can be a lifelong hobby. Though the number of larger aquariums is limited, the number of aquarium supplies is thorough. From a large selection of filters to heaters and chillers for both freshwater and saltwater tanks, the established enthusiast can find most anything to satisfy the aquatic life in their tank or expand their hobby.

In addition to mechanical elements for your fish tank, Animal World Network carries a fine assortment of décor for your tank. A fine selection of artificial plants, driftwood, figurines, background, and gravel are available. Also an impressive number of decorations from pagoda’s to East Island statues to replica grottos to skeletons will keep your fish and their human friends amused for hours.

A good assortment of fish care and medication products will ensure your aquarium and its occupants remain healthy for years to come safe from Ich, parasites, and fungus. And the water chemistry products should keep the water environment at its optimal level.

Ease of Use:   Excellent

We did find the menu access and search capabilities a bit awkward at times coming up with some unusual items during searches; however, when inventory items are displayed, the screen is uncluttered. Selecting an item provides additional product information for informative buying and an additional list of like products and suggestions for products that are popular with other customers.

Payment Options:   Excellent

Animal World Network accepts major credit cards, PayPal, and gift certificates are redeemable. Orders are tracked by the shippers and the security of buyer information seems adequate.

Customer Support:   Excellent

As a family business, customer service via telephone is limited to Monday thru Friday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. This is less than most of the other sites reviewed. There is, however, email support.

We couldn’t find any online articles about aquarium care and most of the links to celebrities and their pets usually focused on canines.

Summary:

The Animal World Network has a decent amount of inventory and some great starter kits, but they just don't compare to some of the better online aquarium supply stores. Read our reviews of That Fish Place, Drs. Foster and Smith and PETCO for details.
